Welcome

The UW Neuromuscular Coordination Laboratory (UWNCL) conducts fundamental research on the interactions between mechanics, neural control, and muscular coordination that allow humans and other animals to navigate their environments. Our work on coordination has applications in rehabilitation, biomimetic robotics, and furthering understanding of the functional organization of the body.

Our laboratory is equipped to capture three-dimensional kinematic and kinetic data on how humans and animals interact with their environments. Much of our instrumentation is custom-designed in the laboratory to enable pioneering scientific inquiry.

The objective of our laboratory is to contribute understanding of neuromuscular coordination in human and animal movement so that more effective interventions for facilitating that movement can be established.
